Inspection Procedure

1. Visually and/or physically inspect following conditions;

• Vacuum hoses for splits, kinks and improper connections.
• Throttle body gasket.
• Gasket between intake manifold and cylinder head.
• Seals between intake manifold and fuel injectors.
• Exhaust system between O2 sensor and the three way catalyst for air leakage.
• Air cleaner filter element for excessive dirt or for any foreign objects.
• Throttle body inlet for damage or for any foreign objects.
• Throttle bore and throttle plate for chocking and for any foreign objects.
• Restricted exhaust system.

■ Check the fuel lines

1. Check the fuel filter for blockage
   • Remove the fuel pump and check filter debris and clogging of the fuel supply line.
2. Check the fuel level
   • If you run out of fuel significantly on ramp, it may be a factor of degradation of the fuel pressure.
3. Check low-pressure fuel supply line leakage and blockage.
   • Low-pressure fuel supply line damage and blockage can be a factor of the fuel pressure drop.

■ Check the fuel pressure

1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
2. Install the special service tool (SST).
3. Inspect fuel leakage on connections among the fuel feed tube, the high pressure fuel pump, and SST components with Ignition "ON".
4. Measure fuel pressure. (Start the engine and measure the fuel pressure at idle.)

• Specification:  Fuel Pressure: 480 to 520 kPa (4.9 to 5.3kgf/cm² , 69.6 to 75.4 psi)

  Good 

  • Go to "WIRING INSPECTION " procedure.

  No Good 

  • Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
