DTC P0404-00: EGR 'A' Control Circuit Range/Performance: General Description

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) control valve is a solenoid valve installed between the EGR cooler and the exhaust line that controls the EGR amount by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)'s duty control signal depending on engine load and the intake air demand. The EGR system is used to add the exhaust gas to intake air in order to reduce an excess of air and the temperature in the combustion chamber.
