DTC P0111-F1: Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit: General Description

Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IATS) uses a Negative Temperature Characteristics (NTC) thermistor and senses intake air temperature. Two intake air temperature sensors are installed in this engine.
IATS #1 in Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) and IATS #2 in Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAPS).
To calculate precise air quantity, correction of the air temperature is needed because air density varies according to the temperature. So the PCM uses not only MAPS signal but also IATS signal.
