Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  4. Remove the RH front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")

  5. Remove the RH front wheel guard

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT WHEEL GUARD ")

  6. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  7. Release the drive belt tension.
    1. Turn the drive belt tensioner arm (A) clockwise and install the fixing pin (B).

    2. Turn the drive belt tensioner arm (A) counterclockwise and install the fixing pin (B).

  8. Install the jack under the edge of lower oil pan to support the engine.
  9. Remove the engine mounting bucket.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE MOUNTING ")

  10. Use the jack to lower the engine free up work space.
  11. Remove the drive belt (A).

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
