Repair Procedures: Removal

- Release the residual pressure in the fuel line.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Remove the rear seat cushion.
(Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the air duct (A) by removing the mounting nuts.
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (FTPS) connector (A).
- Disconnect the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) connector (A) and Fuel Pressure Sensor (FPS) connector (B).
- Separate the fuel feed quick-connector (A).
- Remove the center muffler assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "MUFFLER ")
- Remove the propeller shaft assembly.[AWD only]
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the floor under cover (A) by removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Separate the fuel feed tube (A) by releasing the quick-connector.
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Isolation Valve (FTIV) connector (A).
- Separate the hoses.
- Fuel filler hose
- Leveling hose
- Ventilation hose
- Support the fuel tank with a jack (A).
- Remove the fuel tank band (A) after removing the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque:
40.0 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 29.0 - 39.7 lb.ft)
- Remove the fuel tank by lowering the jack slowly.
