Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

  2. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  4. Drain the inverter coolant.

    (Refer to Hybrid Motor System - "COOLANT ")

  5. Remove the air cleaner.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  6. Remove the front bumper assembly.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY ")

  7. Remove the virtual engine sound speaker.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "VIRTUAL ENGINE SOUND UNIT & SPEAKER ASSEMBLY ")

  8. Remove the front bumper beam.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT BUMPER BEAM ASSEMBLY ")

  9. Remove the air intake shield (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb.ft, 34.7 - 52.1 lb.in)

  10. Remove the radiator air guard

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.6 - 8.7 lb.ft, 69.4 - 104.2 lb.in)

  11. Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

  12. Disconnect the radiator lower hose (A).

  13. Remove the inverter radiator.

    (Refer to Hybrid Cooling System - "RADIATOR ")

  14. Remove the Air conditioner condenser.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "CONDENSER ")

  15. Remove the radiator upper mounting bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.6 - 8.7 lb.ft, 69.4 - 104.2 lb.in)

  16. Remove the radiator and cooling fan assembly (A).

  17. Remove the cooling fan assembly.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLING FAN ")

  18. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  19. Fill with engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  20. Fill with inverter coolant.

    (Refer to COOLANT ")

    NOTE: The coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
  21. Start engine and check for leaks.
  22. Recheck engine coolant level.
