Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Kia Sorento. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Before removing position sensor, long press the "N" button and position it at the "N".
  2. Ignition "OFF" and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  3. Remove the battery and battery tray and air duct and the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Disconnect the electronic shift actuator connector and position sensor connector.
  5. Remove the electronic shift actuator after removing the bolts.
  6. Remove the bolts in the position sensor.
  7. Install the position sensor "N" fixing special tool in the sensor, case pin and anti-rotation guide.
  8. Install the bolts in the position sensor.
  9. Remove the position sensor "N" fixing special tool.
  10. Install the electric shift actuator.
  11. Install the bolts in electric shift actuator.
  12. Connect the electric shift actuator and position sensor.
  13. Install the battery and battery tray and air duct and the air cleaner assembly.
  14. Check that operating surely at each range of the position sensor corresponding to each position of electric shift button.
