DTC C1721-44: Data From EEPROM Not Valid Or Hardware Defects: General Description

E-Shifter delivers driver's input to TCM by sensing changes of electrical signal in shift lever position.

  1. E-Shifter sense changes of electrical signal in shift lever position.
  2. E-Shifter deliver shift lever position value to TCU via CAN communication.
  3. The TCU shifts the transmission based on the shift lever position and vehicle current operating conditions.
  4. TCU check transmission's information and transfer to the cluster and E-Shifter (CAN).
  5. This information is displayed on the shift lever knob in the cluster.
