Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
  1. Set the front tires straight-ahead.
  2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

    CAUTION: After disconnecting the cables, wait at least 3 minutes.
  3. Put a flat tool (Ø5 mm) into a guide hole located in the left/right of steering wheel and press a DAB fastening pin.

  4. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel by disconnecting the horn connector (A) and airbag module connector (B).

  5. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  6. Remove the steering wheel column shroud lower panel.
  7. Remove the multifunction switch after disconnecting the clock spring wiring harness and multifunction switch harness connector.
