Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

    CAUTION: After disconnecting the cables, wait at least 3 minutes.
  2. Remove the front seat back cover.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT BACK COVER ")

    Information 

    After vehicle collision, if the airbag deploy and must be replace, the seat backrest replace integrally.

  3. Disconnect the center side airbag wiring (A) after removing the mounting wiring clip.

  4. Remove the center side airbag module (A) after removing the mounting nuts.

    Tightening torque 

    5.8 - 7.8 N.m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf.m, 4.3 - 5.7 lb.ft, 52.0 - 69.4 lb.in)
