Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the fuel tank.

    (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "FUEL TANK ")

  3. Remove the heat protector (A) after removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb.ft, 34.7 - 52.1 lb.in)

  4. Disconnect the connector (A, B).
    1. Vapor hose connector
    2. Evaporative Leak Check Module (ELCM) connector

  5. Remove the ELCM cover (A) after removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb.ft, 34.7 - 52.1 lb.in)

  6. Remove the ELCM (A) by pulling it in the arrow of direction.

  7. Disconnect the vapor hose connector (A, B)

  8. Remove the canister (A) after removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb.ft, 34.7 - 52.1 lb.in)
