Repair Procedures: Removal

- Remove the cylinder head cover.
(Refer to Cylinder Head Assembly - "CYLINDER HEAD COVER ")
- Turn the crankshaft decoupler so that No. 1 piston is at top dead center. turn the crankshaft decoupler and align its groove with the timing mark on the timing chain cover.
- Remove the timing chain.
(Refer to Timing System - "TIMING CHAIN ")
- Remove the high pressure fuel pump bracket (A).
- Remove the camshaft front bearing cap (A) and camshaft bearing caps (B).
- Remove the intake and exhaust OCV And center bolt (A).NOTE:
- Be careful not to allow foreign objects to enter the intake/exhaust OCV And Center bolts.
- When removing the intake and exhaust OCV And Center bolts, secure the hexagonal bolts with a wrench to prevent the camshaft from rotating.

- Remove the CVVD assembly.
[When SST (0K240-P4100) is available]
NOTE:- After removing the CVVD assembly, make sure that there is no separation of components such as the lifter and the cam.
- Do not damage the CVVD assembly components.
[If the CVVD fixture can't be used]
- Remove the intake CVVT (A).
- Remove the exhaust camshaft (A).
- Remove the exhaust CVVT (A).
- Remove the exhaust camshaft (A).
