Auxiliary 12 V Battery

  1. Open the front trunk (A).

  2. Open the service cover (A).

  3. Disconnect the auxiliary 12 V battery negative (-) terminal (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  4. Disconnect the service interlock connector (A).
    WARNING: Wait more than 5 minutes for capacitor of the high voltage battery system to be discharged completely.

    NOTE: The service interlock connector cannot be completely removed.

  5. Open the auxiliary 12 V battery positive (+) terminal cover (A).

  6. Disconnect the auxiliary 12 V battery positive (+) terminal (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  7. Remove the auxiliary 12 V battery (A) after removing the clamp (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.4 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.1 lb.ft)
