Joint Assembly (Wheel Side): Removal

NOTE:

Integrated Drive Axle (IDA) requires special grease, so do not add any other type of grease.
When replacing the boot band, it must be a new one.

Remove the IDA.
(Refer to Rear Driveshaft & Axle Assembly - " INTEGRATED DRIVE AXLE (IDA) ")
Remove the wheel side large diameter boot band (A) using a flat-head screw driver.

Information

Broaden the (A) using a flat-head screw driver and push the (B) to remove it.

Remove the wheel side small diameter boot band (A) using a flat-head screw driver.

Remove the boot (A) from the hub bearing.

Extend the snap ring (A) from side to side using a snap ring plier.

Information

Clean the grease inside the hub bearing as much as possible using a clean cloth to locate the snap ring.
Remove the hub bearing (A) while the snap ring is extended.
