Squib Circuit Inspection
NOTE:
If dummy and dummy adaptor are not able to be prepared, use a 2Ω resistor.
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect the battery (-) cable and wait for 5 minutes or more.
- Remove the PBPT module and connect the dummy and dummy adapter to the PBPT module connector.
- Connect the battery (-) cable and ignition "ON" and wait for 30s or more.
- Connect KDS to Data Link Connector (DLC) and clear DTC with KDS and diagnose again.
- Are any DTCs stored in the system?
Good
- Go to next procedure.
No Good
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If problem still occurs, replace PBPT module and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
Main Harness Circuit Inspection Inspection Condition (+) Probe (-) Probe Specification Connector Terminal Connector Terminal - Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for five minutes.
- Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
PBPT connector 1 (high) SRSCM connector 32 (high) Approx. below 1Ω PBPT connector 2 (low) SRSCM connector 33 (low) Approx. below 1Ω PBPT connector 1 (high) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω PBPT connector 2 (low) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω - Connect the SRSCM main connector.
- Connect the battery (-) terminal cable to the battery.
- Ignition "ON".
PBPT connector 1 (high) Chassis ground - Fig.1 PBPT connector 2 (low) Chassis ground - Good
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If problem still occurs, replace SRSCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
No Good
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If problem still occurs, replace SRSCM main harness and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
