Removal And Installation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  4. Loosen the drain plug and drain the coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  5. Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  6. Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

  7. Disconnect the heater hoses (A).

  8. Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector (A).

  9. Disconnect the water hose (A).

  10. Disconnect the turbocharger coolant hose (A).

  11. Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Clean the surface of the water temperature control assembly before installing.
    • Always use new O-ring.
  13. Fill the radiator with coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  14. Start engine and check for leaks.
  15. Recheck engine coolant level.
