Repair Procedures: Removal

- Release the residual pressure in the fuel line.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ").
NOTE: When removing the fuel pump relay, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may occur. Delete the code with the KDS after completion of "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line" work. - Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the rear seat cushion.
(Refer to Body - "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
- Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (A).
- Disconnect the fuel pump control module connector (B).
- Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (C).
- Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector (D).
- Remove the center muffler assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "MUFFLER ")
- Remove the propeller shaft assembly.[Only 4WD]
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY ")
- Disconnect the canister close valve connector (A).
- Disconnect the vapor hose quick-connector (A).
- Disconnect the fuel feed hose (A) and ventilation hose quick-connector (B).
Tightening torque:
5.0 - 5.5 N.m (0.5 - 0.56 kgf.m, 3.7 - 4.0 lb.ft, 44.2 - 48.6 lb.in)
- Support the fuel tank on a jack.
- Remove the fuel tank band (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.
Tightening torque:
45.4 - 59.3 N.m (4.7 - 6.0 kgf.m, 33.5 - 43.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the fuel tank & canister (A).
