Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    G 2.0 MPI NU(ATKINSON) (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  3. Remove the battery and battery tray.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  4. Remove the engine control module (ECM).

    G 2.0 MPI NU(ATKINSON) (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ")

  5. Remove the snap pin (A) and then removing the clutch tube (B).
    NOTE: Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle it may damage the paint if brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

  6. Remove the clutch tube bracket bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.8 Ib.ft)

  7. Remove the snap pin (A).
  8. Remove the clutch tube (B) from the concentric slave cylinder and then removing the clutch tube assembly from the vehicle.
