Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the push rod (A) from the clutch pedal.

  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  3. Remove the engine control module (ECM).

    G 2.0 MPI NU(ATKINSON) (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ")

  4. Remove the snap pin (A) and then removing the clutch tube (B).
  5. Disconnect the reservoir hose (C).
    NOTE: Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle it may damage the paint if brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

  6. Remove the master cylinder (A) by turning it clockwise.
