Circuit Inspection

Inspection Condition (+) Probe (-) Probe Specification
Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
  1. Ignition "ON".
WPC connector 6 (B-CAN high) Chassis ground - Fig.1
WPC connector 5 (B-CAN low) Chassis ground -
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
WPC connector 6 (B-CAN high) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
WPC connector 5 (B-CAN low) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinity)Ω
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
WPC connector 6 (B-CAN high) WPC connector 5 (B-CAN low) Approx. 60Ω
IBU (component side) 36 (B-CAN high) IBU (component side) 35 (B-CAN low) Approx. 120Ω
ICU (component side) 16 (B-CAN high) ICU (component side) 15 (B-CAN low) Approx. 120Ω

Good 

  1. Disconnect B-CAN communication units one by one and monitor DTC to find the cause.
  2. If the DTC erase, substitute with a known-good unit and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.

No Good 

  1. Check for open, short to battery and short to ground in B-CAN line.
  2. Repair as necessary, go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.
