Repair Procedures: Replacement

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Soul. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the rear combination lamp (A).

  2. Disconnect the rear combination lamp connector (A).

  3. Loosen the rear bumper lower mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque:

    43.1 - 54.9 N.m (4.4 - 5.6 Kgf.m, 31.8 - 40.5 lb.ft)

  4. Loosen the rear bumper lower mounting clips.

  5. After loosening the screws on the side of rear bumper assembly (A), detach the side part of rear bumper assembly.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the tabs on the side part of rear bumper.

  6. Loosen the mounting clips and remove the rear bumper assembly (A).

  7. Disconnect the connector (A).

  8. To install, reverse removal procedure.
