DTC C1663-00: Auto Location Failure: General Description
The TPMS is the acronym for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This system monitors the pressure of the tire and when it drops below a certain pressure, the IBU-TPMS makes the warning lamp turn on for notifying the driver. This system consists of IBU-TPMS and TPMS sensors. Among components of TPMS system, the TPMS sensor is installed at each wheel rim. and its role is to measure the air pressure and the temperature of the tire and then it transmits its signals to IBU-TPMS. The communication from TPMS sensors is done via Radio Frequency (RF) at a frequency.
The Auto Location (AL) function checks the location of tire in the vehicle by receiving TPMS sensor IDs. The IBU-TPMS checks the air pressure change of the tire in vehicle using AL and displaying it in the cluster and KDS.
