DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Check the CAN data status receiving from ECM/PCM
  • Open or short in communication circuit
Enable Condition
  • Ignition "ON"
  • Normal battery voltage is 9 to 16V
Threshold Value
  • No data transmitted from EMS
  • EMS communication bad
  • EMS communication line open
Detecting Time
  • Immediately
Symptom
  • Engine start is impossible
  • Some diagnostic menu can not be used
Erase Condition
  • Active DTC Erasing
    1. Normal transponder searching
  • History and active DTC erasing
    1. Ignition "OFF" → "ON" 30 times
    2. DTC erasing with KDS
    3. Normal key registration completed
