Front brake disc thickness check

- Check the brake pads for wear and fade.
- Check the brake disc for damage and cracks.
- Remove all rust and contamination from the surface, and measure the disc thickness at 8 points, at least, at the same distance 5 mm (0.1969 in.) apart from the brake disc outer circle.
- 15 inch: 23 mm (0.9055 in)
- 16 inch: 25 mm (0.9843 in)
- 15 inch: 21mm (0.8268 in)
- 16 inch: 23.4 mm (0.9213 in)

Service limit
DTV (Disc Thickness Variation) :
Circumference direction : Less than 0.005 mm (0.00020 in.)
Radial direction : Less than 0.010 mm (0.00040 in.)
- if the measured DTV larger than the limit and thickness thicker than the service limit of the disc, skim the brake disc.NOTE:
- Skim the disc according to the method of using each skimming lathe. (On-car mounting or external device)
- Do not skim the brake disc when it reaches the service limit.
- If the brake disc is thinner than the service limit, replace the brake disc.
