Circuit Inspection

Inspection Condition (+) Probe (-) Probe Specification
Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
  3. Ignition "ON"
HUD connector 7 (C-CAN high) Chassis ground - Fig. 1
HUD connector 8 (C-CAN low) Chassis ground -
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) cable.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
HUD connector 7 (C-CAN high) HUD connector 8 (C-CAN low) Approx. 60Ω
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) cable.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the concerned component.
CLU (component side) 32 (C-CAN high) CLU (component side) 33 (C-CAN low) Approx. 120Ω
ICU (component side) 9 (C-CAN high) ICU Component 10 (C-CAN low) Approx. 120Ω

Good 

  1. Disconnect C-CAN communication units one by one and monitor DTC to find the cause.
  2. If the DTC erase, substitute with a known-good unit and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the unit and go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.

No Good 

  1. Check for open, short to battery and short to ground in C-CAN line.
  2. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.
