Inspection Procedure

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect KDS.
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" mode.
  5. Using a KDS, Clear DTC.
  6. Operate the vehicle within DTC detecting condition in general information.
  7. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  8. Is the same DTC stored in the system?

    Good 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or not performing "Parameter Setting" and "Zero Setting". Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.

    No Good 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the RVM and go to "Verification of Repair " procedure.
