Detecting Condition |
Possible Cause |
| DTC Strategy |
- Signal monitoring (rationality check)
|
- Poor connector connection
- Damages or faulty tone wheel
- Faulty signal circuit of rear-RH wheel speed sensor
- Faulty wheel speed sensor rear-RH

| Enable Condition |
|
| Threshold Value |
Case1 |
- In case of large air gap between tone wheel and wheel speed sensor, there is no pulse signal input and ESC recognizes wheel speed as 0km/h (0MPH)
A failure is detected by comparison of the 4 wheels speed in following conditions.
- A failure is detected in case that the slowest wheel speed is below 0.25km/h (0.16MPH) and the speed of other wheels exceed 10km/h (6.2MPH) with the vehicle acceleration under 0.4g and this condition continues 150ms
- A failure is detected in case that two or more wheels speed is below 2km/h (1.24MPH) and the speed of other wheel(s) exceed 10km/h with the vehicle acceleration under 0.4g and this condition continues 20s
- If the vehicle acceleration is above 0.4g in 1), 2), the failure detection time is 3min.
- A failure is detected in case that one or two wheel speed is below 0.25km/h (0.16MPH) for more than 12s after all wheels exceed 10km/h (6.2MPH)In case two non-driven is below 0.25km/h (0.16MPH), the failure detection time is 2min.
* 0.4g: About 14km/h (8.7MPH) per 1s |
| Case2 |
- A failure is detected if the wheel speed is below 2km/h (1.2MPH) for more than 12s during ABS control
- A failure is detected if the ABS control duration exceeds 36s (In this case, ESC recognizes all wheels are defective)
- A failure is detected if the wheel speed is above 512km/h (318MPH) for more than 100ms
|
| Warning Lamp |
- In case of failure on more than one wheel
- ESC/DBC/AVH warning lamp "ON"
- In case of failure on more than two wheels
- In case of failure on all wheels
|
| Disable Condition |
- Ignition "OFF" and then "ON", specified vehicle speed is maintained
