DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Kia Soul. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Case1
  • Rationality check, noisy (sudden change, oscillation check)
  • Poor connector connection
  • Faulty FTPS
  • Damaged wiring
  • Faulty ECM
Case2
  • Rationality check, high side
Case3
  • Rationality check, low side
Case4
  • Rationality check stuck during PCSV opening
Case5
  • Rationality check, offset check
Enable Conditions Case1
  • Vehicle speed is less than 30km/h (19mph)
  • Time after CC-opening is more than 25s
  • AAT is between 0 and 42°C (0 and 107.6°F)
Case2, 3
  • Barometric pressure is greater than 74.5kPa
  • AAT is between 0 and 42°C (0 and 107.6°F)
  • Fuel level is between 15 and 85%
  • Time after CC-opening is greater than 25s
Case4
  • AAT is between 0 and 42°C (0 and 107.6°F)
  • Vehicle speed is less than 10km/h (6.2mph)
  • MAP/barometric pressure is less than 0.65 ratio
  • FTP is between -2.5 and 2.5kPa
  • Barometric pressure is greater than 74.5kPa
  • Fuel level is between 15 and 85%
  • Change amount of purge mass flow (difference between maximum mass flow and minimum mass flow) is greater than 1.8kg
Case5
  • AAT is between 0 and 42°C (0 and 107.6°F)
  • Barometric pressure is greater than 74.5kPa
  • Fuel level is between 15 and 85%
  • Absolute value of vehicle acceleration is 2.01m/s2 (6.6ft/s2)
  • Vehicle speed is between 16 and 96.6km/h (10 and 60mph)
  • Filtered FTP deviation is less than 0.1kPa
  • Accumulated purge mass is greater than 15g
  • Refueling condition is not detected
  • PSCV and CCV functionality check results is OK
  • Error status of PSCV and CCV after EVAP leak monitoring is no error
  • Remark: (PSCV and CCV functionality check: OK criteria)

After PSCV and CCV functionality check,

    • Deviation FTP between (a) and (c) is less than 50Pa
    • Difference between FTP in (a) and min FTP in (b) is greater than 200Pa

(PCSV and CCV plausibility check procedure)

    1. Check tank pressure at purge inactive
      • Absolute of vehicle acceleration is less than 2.01m/s2 (6.6ft/s2)
      • MAP/barometric pressure is less than 0.95
    2. Check tank pressure at purge active
      • When purge mass flow is greater than 0.792kg/h
      • Absolute of vehicle acceleration is less than 2.01m/s2 (6.6ft/s2)
    3. Repetition of (a)
Threshold Value Case1
  • Change amount of FTP (difference of two consecutive FTP) is greater than 2.5kPa
Case2
  • FTP is greater than 6.13kPa
Case3
  • FTP is less than -4.5kPa
Case4
  • Change amount of FTP (difference between maximum FTP and minimum FTP) is less than 10Pa
