Rear Brake Disc Thickness Check

Check the brake pads for wear and fade.
Check the brake disc for damage and cracks.
Remove all rust and contamination from the surface, and measure the disc thickness at 24 points, at least, at the same distance apart (10 mm) from the brake disc outer circle.
Rear Brake disc thickness

Standard:
- - 14, 15 inch : 10 mm (0.3937 in.)
Service limit:
- - 14, 15 inch : 8.4 mm (0.3307 in.)
DTV (Disc Thickness Variation) :

Circumference direction : Less than 0.005 mm (0.00020 in.)

Radial direction : Less than 0.010 mm (0.00040 in.)

if the measured DTV larger than the limit and thickness thicker than the service limit of the disc, skim the brake disc.
NOTE:
- Skim the disc according to the method of using each skimming lathe. (On-car mounting or external device)
- Do not skim the brake disc when it reaches the service limit.
If the brake disc is thinner than the service limit, replace the brake disc.
