Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Remove the front bumper assembly.
(Refer to Front bumper - "FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the ambient temperature sensor.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning - "AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR ")
- Remove the FCA Radar.
(Refer to Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) - "FRONT RADAR UNIT ")
- Loosen the mounting bolts and nuts, remove the front bumper beam assembly (A).
Tightening torque
Bolts: 21.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.2 - 2.7 Kgf.m, 15.9 - 19.5 lb.ft)
Nuts: 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 Kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb.ft)
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Information
Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
