TMU (UVO eServices)

  1. Features/Misdiagnose cases
    Inspection Description
    (1) System features
    1. UVO eServices activation
      1. Make new account at www.myuvo.com
      2. Install "UVO eServices" App using compatible phone
        • Compatible phone list: refer to website https://www.myuvo.com/support/index.shtml
      3. Enable location settings on the application
      4. If application fails to start, connect to Bluetooth using phone
      5. Select 'eServices' on H/U, select settings, and activate
    2. UVO eServices
      1. Vehicle diagnose: If issue occurs, call Kia Roadside Assist setup maintenance schedule
      2. Parked location: Store parked location to revisit, or send location info to others
      3. POI: Sync POI(Points Of Interest) and myUVO.com information using H/U
      4. Trip Info: Displays driving data such as time, distance, and average speed
    (2) Misdiagnose cases
    1. H/U misdiagnose cases
      1. Phone not compatible: eServices unavailable if phone is not compatible
      2. Unregistered account: Users must register account at myUVO.com
      3. H/U Spec: eServices unavailable if H/U does not have TMU installed
      4. Environmental issue: eServices unavailable if telematics not connected, such as poor reception area
  2. No service (UVO eServices not working)
Issue Inspection Description
UVO eServices not working
  • No External TMU
(1) Duplicate issue
  • Test drive to duplicate issue
  1. Duplicate issue using phone

    (Normal: Displays location/Menu and additional services available)

  2. Test drive to duplicate issue

(Check for environment)
If issue duplicates, follow below steps to find cause
UVO eServices not working
  • No External TMU
(2) Search and remove defect factor
  • Environmental
  • Vehicle modification
  • Connection status
  • Damage
  • Wiring
  1. Check environment
    1. Antenna bar must be displayed (No bar if in poor reception area)

    →Confirm bar status, move vehicle for better signal and re-test if bar is not displayed

  2. Vehicle modification
    1. If custom modification like black box was installed, issues can occur

    →Remove any modification and re-test

  3. Connection, wiring, damages
  1. Check for connection, wiring and damage for related part like Wifi antenna, H/U

    →If any damage is found, replace part and re-test

    If issue continues, replace H/U and re-test

Issue Inspection Description
UVO eServices not working
  • External TMU
(1) Duplicate issue
  • Test drive to duplicate issue
  1. Duplicate issue using phone

    (Normal: Displays location/Menu and additional services available)

  2. Test drive to duplicate issue

(Check for environment)
If issue duplicates, follow below steps to find cause

  • External TMU
(2) Search and remove defect factor
  • Environmental
  • Vehicle modification
  • Connection status
  • Damage
  • Wiring
  1. Check environment
    1. Antenna bar must be displayed (No bar if in poor reception area)

    →Remove any modification and re-test

    If issue continues, replace H/U and re-test
