Monitor KDS Data

  1. Ignition switch "OFF"
  2. Connect KDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Ignition switch "ON"
  4. Monitor the each airbag resistance parameter in "Current Data" with KDS.

    Specification:  1.0Ω< Resistance of airbag < 7.2Ω

    Reference:  In a case of an open in the airbag circuit: FAIL

    In a case of a short to battery in the airbag circuit: FAIL

    In a case of a short to ground in the airbag circuit: FAIL

  5. Is the parameter displayed within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the part's and/or SRSCM connector or was repaired and SRSCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
    CAUTION: If you strike or spin the SRSCM at the IG "ON" state, the seat-belt pretensioner, curtain-airbag or side-airbag could be unfolded and bring on danger. Handle it with care.

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • Check for short between ignition circuit of airbag and repair as necessary.
    • If problem still occurs, replace SRSCM main harness and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
