CAN Communication Line Inspection

  1. All Module: Connected
  2. Ignition: ON
TCM CAN High terminal Chassis ground
TCM CAN Low terminal Chassis ground
CAN Communication Line (Short to Ground): Resistance ∞ (infinite)Ω
  1. Ignition: OFF
  2. All Module: Connected
TCM CAN High terminal Chassis ground
TCM CAN Low terminal Chassis ground
CAN Communication Line (Open): Resistance Approx. below 1Ω
  1. Ignition: OFF
  2. HECU, TCM connector: Disconnected
TCM CAN High terminal HECU CAN High terminal
TCM CAN Low terminal HECU CAN Low terminal
  1. Is the result within specifications?

    YES 

    • This can be an intermittent fault caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or control module's connector. Or, control module's memory was not cleared after repair. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
