Signal Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Refer to "INPUT SPEED SENSOR " and disconnect input speed sensor connector.
  3. Ignition "ON"
  4. Measure voltage between Pin No. 5 (Signal) terminal of input speed sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 0V

  5. Ignition "OFF"
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 1, 4 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 5 (Signal) terminal of input speed sensor harness connector.

    Specification:  ∞ (infinite)Ω

  7. Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Signal) terminal of input speed sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  ∞ (infinite)Ω

  8. Is measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
