Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

    (Refer to the Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

  2. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. (Refer to Body- "REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ")
  4. Remove the fuel pump service cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.

  5. Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (A), fuel pressure sensor connector (B) and fuel pump control module connector (C).

  6. Lift the vehicle.
  7. Remove the center muffler assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "MUFFLER ")

  8. Disconnect the fuel feed hose (A) and leveling hose (B).

  9. Disconnect the vapor tube quick-connector (A).

  10. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor extension connector (A).

  11. Support the fuel tank with a jack.
  12. After loosening the rear side fuel tank band mounting nut (A), remove the fuel tank band (C) from the gap (B) between front side fuel tank and body.

    Fuel tank band mounting nut: 

    39.2 - 54.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)

  13. Remove the fuel tank (A).
