Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
  • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
  • To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.

Information 

Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector brackets around the cylinder head cover.

  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Remove the ignition coils.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "IGNITION COIL ")

  6. Disconnect the fuel hose (A) and purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (B).

  7. Loosen the vacuum & purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) pipe assembly (A) mounting bolts and nut and then remove the high pressure fuel pipe (B).

  8. Remove the high pressure fuel pump.

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP ")

  9. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).

  10. Remove the cylinder head cover (A).
