Removal And Installation

- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Drain the engine coolant so its level is below water temperature control assembly.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery.
(Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
- Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector brackets around the water temperature control assembly.
- Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A) and lower hose (B).
- Disconnect the heater hoses (A).
- Disconnect the throttle body coolant hoses (A) and the oil cooler hoses (B).
- Remove the water temperature control assembly (A) with the water inlet pipe.
Tightening Torque:
Nut: 18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
Bolt: 14.7 - 19.6 N.m (1.5 - 2.0 kgf.m, 10.8 - 14.5 lb.ft)
NOTE:- Install a new O-ring.
- Clean surface on the O-ring and install the O-ring after wetting with water.
- Remove the water inlet pipe (A) from the water temperature control assembly.
Tightening Torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Fill the engine coolant.

- Start engine and check for leaks.
