Removal And Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Disconnect the cooling fan connector (A).

  6. Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A) and the lower hose (B).

  7. Disconnect the ATF cooler hoses (A). (AT only)

  8. Disconnect the reservoir hose (A).

  9. Remove the front bumper cover.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "FRONT BUMPER COVER ")

  10. Remove the radiator upper member bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    21.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.2 - 2.7 kgf.m, 15.9 - 19.5 lb.ft)

  11. Remove the air guide (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.7 - 8.6 lb.ft)

  12. Remove the radiator assembly (A).

  13. Remove the cooling fan (A) from the radiator (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    5.9 - 8.3 N.m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf.m, 4.4 - 6.1 lb.ft)

  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  15. Fill the radiator with coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  16. Start engine and check for leaks.
