Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")

  2. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Drain the coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  4. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  5. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  6. Disconnect the engine wiring connector and harness clamp and disconnect the wiring from intake manifold.

  7. Disconnect the intercooler outlet hose.

  8. Disconnect the RCV solenoid valve hose (A), and then remove the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) (B).

  9. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A), throttle body coolant hoses (B), and electric throttle control (ETC) module connector (C),

  10. Disconnect the oil cooler hose (A).

  11. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).

  12. Remove the intake manifold (A) with the gasket.

    Tightening torque: 

    18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9-2.4 kgf.m, 13.7-17.4 lb.ft)

    NOTE:
    • When installing, replace with new gaskets.
    • When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts and nuts with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts and nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.

  13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
