DTC Description

If Gear Selector Display signal is fault for more than 500 msec, EPB ECU sets DTC C164608.

DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • CAN Message Monitoring
  1. Defected CAN Communication Circuit
  2. Faulty PCM (TCM)
Threshold Value
  • Invalid Gear Selector Display signal is received for more than 1.5 sec.
  • The fault is not checked for 2 sec after ignition "ON"
Fail Safe
  • DAR/Dynamic Braking (ESC) inhibited
Warning Indicator Lamp Status
  • Warning Indicator Lamp "ON"
Clear Condition
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON"
