CAN register and communication line inspection
■ CAN register and communication line inspection 1
- Ignition "OFF".
- Connect all module connectors in proper locations.
- Measure resistance between terminal 3 and 11 of Data Link Connector (DLC).
Specification: approx. 60 Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Check Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
- go to "CAN register and communication line inspection 2" procedure below.
NO
- If the measured value is out of specification, repair or replace 120Ω CAN register (Inside of ECM/PCM and CLU) and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
- If the measured value is lower than 10Ω, repair or replace CAN High and CAN Low are short each other. And then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
- go to "CAN register and communication line inspection 2" procedure below.
■ CAN register and communication line inspection 2
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect ECM/PCM and CLU main harness connector.
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 85 (High) terminal and Pin No. 63 (Low) terminal of ECM. (GAMMA 1.6 T-GDI)
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 77 (High) terminal and Pin No. 60 (Low) terminal of PCM. (THETA-II 2.0 T-GDI)
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 77 (High) terminal and Pin No. 60 (Low) terminal of PCM. (THETA-II 2.4 GDI)
- Measure resistance between Pin No. 32 (High) terminal and Pin No. 33 (Low) terminal of CLU.
Specification: About 120 Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- go to "CAN communication line inspection " procedure.
NO
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- problem still occurs, replace, ECM/PCM or CLU and then go to, "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
