Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least one minute.
  3. Refer to FRONT IMPACT SENSOR (FIS) and remove Front Impact Sensor (FIS) -Driver.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Low) terminal and Pin No. 1 (High) terminal of Front Impact Sensor (FIS) -Driver.

    Specification:  Approx. 2.5 MΩ (Actual Vehicle Test value)

  5. Is the measured resistance within specifications?

    YES 

    • Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace SRSCM main harness and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace Front Impact Sensor (FIS) -Driver and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
