CAN Communication Line Inspection

  1. Ignition switch "OFF"
  2. Disconnect battery (-) cable.
  3. Refer to REPAIR PROCEDURES and ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) (1.6L) , ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) (2.0L) or ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) (2.4L) and disconnect HECU and ECM/PCM connector.
  4. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 44 (C-CAN High) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 85 (C-CAN High) terminal of ECM harness connector. (1.6 T-GDI)
  5. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 45 (C-CAN Low) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 63 (C-CAN Low) terminal of ECM harness connector. (1.6 T-GDI)
  6. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 44 (C-CAN High) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 77 (C-CAN High) terminal of PCM harness connector. (2.4 GDI, 2.0 T-GDI)
  7. Measure the resistance between Pin No. 45 (C-CAN Low) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 60 (C-CAN Low) terminal of PCM harness connector. (2.4 GDI, 2.0 T-GDI)

    Specification  : Approx. below 1 Ω

  8. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO
