CAN COMMUNICATION LINE INSPECTION SPECIFICATION

Inspection Condition (+) Probe (-) Probe Specification
Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
  1. Ignition "ON".
Passenger side body sensor ECU Connector 1 (High) Chassis ground - Fig 1
Passenger side body sensor ECU Connector 2 (Low) Chassis ground -
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect all module connectors related to P-CAN.
Passenger side body sensor ECU Connector 1 (High) Passenger side body sensor ECU Connector 2 (Low) Approx. 60Ω
  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect ECM and IGPM connectors.
ECM (component side) 55 (High) ECM (component side) 77 (Low) Approx. 120Ω
IGPM (component side) 2 (High) IGPM (component side) 1 (Low) Approx. 120Ω
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect all module connectors associated with the P-CAN.
  3. Ignition "ON".
IGPM harness connector 2 (High) Chassis ground - 0V
IGPM harness connector 1 (Low) Chassis ground - 0V
  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect all module connectors associated with the P-CAN.
IGPM harness connector 2 (High) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinite)Ω
IGPM harness connector 1 (Low) Chassis ground - ∞ (infinite)Ω

  • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or SRSCM's connector or was repaired and SRSCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
