Main Crash Pad Replacement

CAUTION:
  • A plastic trim tool is recommended, but if prying with a screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove the following items:
    • Front seat

      (Refer to "FRONT SEAT ")

    • Front pillar trim

      (Refer to "INTERIOR TRIM ")

    • Floor console assembly

      (Refer to "CONSOLE ")

    • Front door scuff trim

      (Refer to "INTERIOR TRIM ")

    • Cowl side trim

      (Refer to "INTERIOR TRIM ")

    • Center fascia panel
    • Audio assembly
    • Cluster fascia panel
    • Cluster assembly
    • Crash pad side cover [LH, RH]
    • Crash pad lower panel
    • Glove box & Glove box housing
    • Heater control unit
    • Steering column lower shroud & Steering column upper shroud
    • Crash pad center panel
    • Crash pad upper panel
  2. Disconnect the steering column connectors.

    (Refer to "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")

  3. Down the steering column after loosening the mounting bolts.

    (Refer to "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")

  4. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connectors (A).
  5. Loosen the mounting bolt.

  6. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the photo sensor (A).
  7. Disconnect the photo sensor connector (B).

  8. After loosening the mounting bolts, nuts, screw, then remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
