Removal and Installation

- Loosen the drain plug, and then drain the engine coolant. Remove the radiator cap to help drain the coolant faster.
- Remove the water pump drive belt (A).
- Put the SST (09252-3D100) between the crankshaft pulley and the drive belt.
- Rotate the crankshaft pulley clockwise. Then the drive belt is removed.

When installing the water pump drive belt,
- Put the SST (09252-03200) between the crankshaft pulley and the drive belt.
- Rotate the crankshaft pulley clockwise. Then the drive belt is installed.
- Remove the water pump pulley (A) and the dust cover (B).
Tightening torque:
7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8~ 7.2lb-ft)
- Remove the water pump (A) with the gasket.
Tightening torque:
18.6 ~ 23.5N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4lb-ft)
- Remove the exhaust manifold heat protector. (Refer to Removal and Installation . )
- Remove the water pump cover (B) with the gasket and the water inlet pipe (A).
Tightening torque:
18.6 ~ 23.5N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4lb-ft)
- Installation is reverse order of removal with a new water pump gasket.
- Fill the engine coolant.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
- Recheck the coolant level.
