Component Inspection

■ Camshaft and crankshaft alignment check (Exhaust) 

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Select "Oscilloscope" in the menu.
  3. Connect Channel A positive probe to Pin No. 2 (Signal B) and Channel A negative probe to Pin No. 1 (Signal A) on the CKPS connector.
  4. Connect Channel B to Pin No. 2 (Signal) terminal of CMPS-EX harness connector and chassis ground.
  5. Engine start. And check the signal waveforms.

    Specification: 

    CKPS & CMPS (Exhaust side) synchronization - There are about 16~17 teeth between the CKPS missing tooth and CMPS signal.

    A: CKPS & CMPS (Exhaust side) Synchronization - There are about 16~17 teeth between the CKPS missing tooth and CMPS signal.

  6. Does the CKPS & CMPS ((Exhaust side) synchronize properly? (Check variation)

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If problem still occurs, replace CMPS-EX and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
