Component Inspection

■ M/F switch check 

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON"
  3. Turn the low beam ON.
  4. Monitor the "Head Lamp Low Beam Status" parameters in the "Current Data" with GDS.

    Specification:  ON

  5. Is parameter displayed changes?

    YES 

    • Substitute with known good AFLS-ECU or Cluster and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECU and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
      NOTE: * In case of replacing AFLS-ECU, perform following procedures.
      1. "Parameter Download" for initializing AFLS-ECU. (Refer to B1661 )
      2. "Calibration of Sensors" for height sensor calibration. (Refer to B1637 )

      * In case of replacing Cluster, perform following procedures.
      1. "Variant Coding" (Refer to C1702 )

    NO 

    • Substitute with known good M/F switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace M/F switch and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    ■ Back-up lamp switch check (For M/T) 

    1. Place vehicle on flat ground.
    2. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
    3. Ignition "ON" or Engine "ON" and shift gear to "Reverse" position.
    4. Monitor the "R Inhibit output" parameters in the "Current Data" with GDS in CLU system.
    5. Is parameter displayed changes when shifting gears?

    YES 

    • Substitute with known good AFLS-ECU or CLU and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECU and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
      NOTE: * In case of replacing AFLS-ECU, perform following procedures.
      1. "Parameter Download" for initializing AFLS-ECU. (Refer to B1661 )
      2. "Calibration of Sensors" for height sensor calibration. (Refer to B1637 )

      * In case of replacing Cluster, perform following procedures.
      1. "Variant Coding" (Refer to C1702 )

    NO 

    • Substitute with known good Back-up lamp switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Back-up lamp switch and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
