Component Inspection

■ Brake switch check 

1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON"
3. Monitor the "Brake Switch" parameters in the "Current Data" with GDS in Engine system.

   Specification:  ON

4. Is parameter displayed changes when pedal is pressed?

   YES 

   • Substitute with known good AFLS-ECU or ECM/PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECU and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
     NOTE: * In case of replacing AFLS-ECU, perform following procedures.

     1. "Parameter Download" for initializing AFLS-ECU. (Refer to B1661 )
     2. "Calibration of Sensors" for height sensor calibration. (Refer to B1637 )

   NO 

   • Substitute with known good Brake switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace brake switch and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
