Component Inspection

■ Yaw Rate sensor check

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON"
  3. Monitor the "Yaw Rate Sensor" related parameters in the "Current Data" with GDS in ABS/ESP system.

    Specification:  Approx. 0G

  4. Is parameter displayed changes when shifting gears?

    YES

    • Substitute with known good AFLS-ECU or HECU and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECU and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NOTE: * In case of replacing AFLS-ECU, perform following procedures.
      1. "Parameter Download" for initializing AFLS-ECU. (Refer to B1661 )
      2. "Calibration of Sensors" for height sensor calibration. (Refer to B1637 )

      * In case of replacing HECU, perform following procedures.
      1. "ASP Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (Refer to C1261 )
      2. "Longitudinal Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (Refer to C1285 )
      3. "Variant Coding" (Refer to C1702 )

    NO

    • Check for fault in Yaw rate sensor harness connector and repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    • If Sensor harness connector is OK, substitute with known good Yaw Rate Sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Yaw rate sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NOTE: In a case of replacing the Yaw rate sensor, perform "longitudinal G sensor Calibration" by GDS. (DBC/HAC only, refer to C1285 )
